Brutal Weather

As I wrote about it yesterday, Austin hit 102.9 making it the 80th day this year of 100 degrees or higher. The second most days in history with the most being 90 days in 2011.

To make things worse, the north Austin area got pummeled with 3-4 inch hail which did severe damage to cars and roofs. We were lucky to only get 1/3 of an inch of rain - which was quite nice but didn't do much to cool things down. The heat looks to continue all week with highs in the mid 90s and evenings (mornings really) in the low 70s. We still havn't "hit Fall" weather yet.

Looking forward to next week when we'll be in Estes Park enjoying evenings in the 40s and daytime highs in the 60s and low 70s. Really - perfect weather. Can't wait.

Today we had a nice evening meal at Saltgrass Steakhouse. We are part of the Landry's Select Club and took advantage of the rewards club. It was actually a very nice meal.

Someday the heat will end. Someday.
