Points of Interest (Early Dec 2020)

Interesting thread that graphs the growth of COVID cases correlative to lockdowns.
The point is that lockdowns don't work in America. Perhaps they should - but they don't. They don't work here for a bunch of reasons that don't matter (because it doesn't change the reality of the situation). Further, the point isn't to "look at Taiwan/Australia" and their successes. We are not those countries. You may wish we were like them, but we are not.

Santa Clara County (CA) was the first in the US to lockdown. They "followed the science" with perhaps the longest lockdown in the world. Gyms never opened. Indoor dining *never* opened. How did that work out? pic.twitter.com/Ym7ogM3a7M
